When the Google play edition comes out will it be possible to install exactly the same software on an s5 which is carrier specific?

I imagine it should be in theory as the hardware is identical (I think).

Is there anyone in the know who can shed some light?

The Google Play Edition will be free from manufacturer and carrier bloatware. It will be a more vanilla Android experience.

I think hes got that. He was asking if there is a way to flash that software on a branded (touchwiz) phone.

They're some roms out there the look like touchwiz. [ROM] S5 Port - Ice Black ROM - xda-developers that's a beta one though, you can find more on that forum
