Google Play Movies and device storage

I have an LG V10 with a 64g memory card installed. I was going on a trip with the kids and loaded 6 purchased movies from Google Play. I looked at storage and my "Apps" jumped from 5g to 16g and my SD storage was still relatively empty. So... I found the setting to load to SD in the GP Movies app. I changed the setting, removed the movies and reloaded them with SD clicked. My storage now shows space used on the SD card but STILL has taken a ton of space under "apps". What gives??

It sounds like it is cached. I would go under the Google Play Movies app and clear the cache.

Here's a visual to explain better...
The first screenshot is BEFORE loading from GP Movies & TV. Notice "Apps" and the "SD" bar (I couldn't get more in the screenshot).
The second screenshot is AFTER loading 6 movies. Notice that BOTH increase by the same amount. If I have "save to SD" checked in the app, why is it hitting me in BOTH spots??
