Google Play Music widget not responding to taps

Just as simple as that, the playback controls do not respond to touch on my Nexus 7(2013). It can't be the screen as other apps respond just fine.

Do you have the latest version installed? The latest update was on 8/16/13.

Does it persist after rebooting?

Suddenly it seems to work.

I'm a miracle worker. I willed it to work from where I'm standing.

Ah guess what. Neither the Play or Spotify music widgets work at all. Are Android widgets so usually flaky?

Not typically. Does the problem persist after rebooting? Have you noticed any other problems with touchscreen sensitivity? What device do you have?
