Google Play services outage, RPC:S-7:AEC-0 error

I tried almost everything that was suggested on this thread & even linked 3 different google accounts (1 of which is already linked to another Andriod table). I found another thread with the following suggestion & this worked for me:

-Go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All
-Select "Clear Data" for Google Play Services and Google Service Framework
-Temporarily unlink your Google Account from the device
-Reboot the device
-Re-add your Google Account and let it sync

Ok, just in case another comes across this thread. I had this exact error message. Contact google via online chat. they had me walk through
1. Turning off Automatic Date & Time and Automatic time Zone.
2. Then set the time and date manually incorrectly (few years back and different time).
3. Then go to the home page. Now back into date & time and manually change it to the correct date/time and timezone.
4. Then choose the automatic check boxes.
5. Now try downloading apps.

Just a quick note, I see people are being told this is a google server error within certain accounts. I have this error on one tablet, but not on my phone or other tablet with the same account. Doesn't seem to be account related for me.

Was getting the same error on two devices trying to download an in-app upgrade purchase. Tried all sorts of fixes including contacting Google Play support. Turned out that this was a newbie error: I hadn't set up a wallet/credit card for the Google account I was using. Wish the error message had actually said that!

Useful troubleshooting was to try to download a free app from the store successfully and then fail with a paid-for app.

All app downloads are broken for certain accounts. Once they resolve the issue, your app update will be able to complete. To get around this for now I removed the account with the problem from my device and I was able to update the app again using another google account. Then I added my other account back to my device. This should do the trick for you but your mileage may vary.

have entered is too short.please lengthen

Hi all,

With regards to the error RPC:S-7:AEC-0 or similar error (you can't buy from your PC) , I highly recommand to contact Google first before attempting anything. They may have a solution for your specific scenario. If not, more people that open a case, more chance they will prioritise the issue. And last, they will offer a temporary solution/offer.

Regards,

Lingot
