Android Central Question

Every time I try to open the play store it crashes instantly and I get the pop up "Unfortunately, Google Play has stopped" I tried restarting my phone, resetting app data, clearing cache. Yet nothing works.

By the way, in my case the crash occurs after I click on "Read More" from within an app description. clearing the cache will fix it for one instance only and then back to crashing.

I was hoping to find the answer here... I just started having this problem today...not sure what triggered it. I have a HTC U11. Android version 8.0.0. I cleared the app data, cache, and reset app preferences, disabled/enabled Downloads system app, booted in safe mode, and nothing is working. Play store keeps crashing only when I search for an app. I was able to fix it earlier by doing these things, but it's not working again and I can't figure out how to fix it. I also checked for updates for the phone's system, but it says there are no updates.

I've only just done the update on my HTC u11 and same problem. Headphone control is stuffed too. I have wired beats solos and now can't control volume or skip. Apparently htc have a app for the adapter called 'audio jack tool kit' or something like that but now I can't download it or anything for that matter on google play thanks to this fantastic update. Anyone else have the headphone issue?

HTC10 sme problem after Oreo update. I tried everything I've read and also did a factory reset worked for awhile and then it staTred closing again with the same message

Started seeing the same issue with my Pixel 1 today as well. Store was working fine yesterday. clearing data did nothing and neither did the pending April security patch that I saw today as well. If anyone has a reasonable solution, feel free to share.

EDIT: turns out I must've unknowingly activated a block on AppLock that blocked my access and have now turned it off. AppLock users should check their settings in case this happens.

Since my galaxy tab a updated to 8.1.0, games keep running out of memory then crashing. Constantly.

I know it is running out of memory due to the games inability to keep rendering graphics properly in games over time. (Anywhere from 5-20 minutes with some crashing every 2-3 minutes when they ran perfectly for hours before the 8.1 update)

This is the newer galaxy tab a with 2gb ram and 32gb storage and not the old 1.5gb ram tablet

Welcome to Android Central! Since this thread's original question was about the Play Store crashing, I suggest you create a new thread about your issue. Thanks!
