Absolutely. WindowsPhone is smooth. Functions great and is home to devices with he best cameras available, IMO. I absolutely LOVED the two Lumia 1520's I've briefly had but just couldn't accepts the lack of and poor quality of apps. :-( ...but DAGGONIT that 1520 was special.

I might try to find a cheap 920 just to try out the windows 8.1. Not my daily driver, though. And the Nokia features are great. (Maps, etc. )

I must use less apps than most because I haven't encountered any that are really bad... Hmm... I will say, the new Facebook Beta that dropped yesterday is hands down the best Facebook experience I've had on any kind of device and I wish that AndroidCentral would take cues from how well the WPCentral app operates.

I hope its not trolling or against forum policy to continue to discuss Windows Phone here...but do you have any idea when 8.1 is supposed to be generally released?

Hi5 from the sV

Support officially starts for it June 27th so we shouldn't be waiting long from there if it's not out on that date.

Stuff like my bank apps make a difference to me. And I'm not really sure if they have DIRECTV or Time Warner cable apps.

DIRECTV, yes. Time Warner, no. We have had a recent influx of bank apps though.

...but still no Suntrust, unless they just got it. Still no good FitBit app. Monopoly is still a half-(3 letter word that starts with an 'a' that also means donkey) version.

Galaxy numbers:

What gap is that? Quarterly? Yearly? total of all time? Please try to keep those goalposts in one place kthx.

(Samsung has a single product (the Note 3) that is selling half as much as the entire iPhone line combined according to that forbes article, and that is not even their best selling phone...questions? Comments?)

Since 2012. Note 3 sales were only for one quarter.

Again with the trolling. Calling people morons, telling them to consult their English teachers, passive aggressive attacks against the moderator team.... if you see something that you feel is violating the rules, hit the REPORT button. Not the, "post quick reply and lets troll" button. That, or move on. Feeding the fire gets people that otherwise wouldn't be trolling burnt.

The figures i provided were over last quarter not the life of the device. Your article was from 2013. How many more have they shipped since then, right none. They stopped at 40 million. What about the s5?
Oh right Samsung fired their mobile design chief.

Have you even read your article????
Hahaha.
It states the note has sold 10 million units (again a 2013 article, 6 months later and strangely no more updates) vs 34 million iPhones sold over the same period.

Galaxy s5:
April 2014
"Samsung Galaxy S5 sales reach 11 million in first month"
http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/samsung-galaxy-s5-sales-reach-11-million-in-first-month

June 2014:
"Samsung's Galaxy S5 is Confirmed a Dud & May Hurt Financials"

"According to Korea's UDN, Samsung's supply chain sources are stating that Samsung's goal was to ship 21 million Galaxy S5 units this quarter and that they'll likely ship closer to 15 million which is a 25% target miss. This would be a huge miss. Sales for the Galaxy S4 are down a million units as well."

http://www.patentlyapple.com/patent...5-is-confirmed-a-dud-may-hurt-financials.html

So apparently the s5 launched with 11 million units in april, shipments then fall to 4 million for the next two months.

Htc one m8:
500,000 units
http://m.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m8-appears-have-passed-half-million-mark

Apple sold 43.7 million iPhones last quarter.

Certainly looks like puppy's assertions are true.:)

Well, I think it has been established that high end android phones have not outsold the iPhone, and the majority of android sales are not the high-end model but the low-end and mid tier.

When you buy an Apple product, you're buying a quality built device that yes, may not have the best specs but is flawlessly optimized to utilize them. Not only that but rather than playing the coin flip game with the OEMs or resorting to rooting you're paying for a consistent and, in this time, unparalleled update system for a pretty good period of time, longer than most need. You're also paying for some of the best support in the technological world and the promise that your phone won't be bogged down in two months. They are what people, at least those that care about the consumer, strive to be. Nokia is working towards it but they're not quite to the extreme that Apple is.
