Google Possibly Investing in Songza

If we are basing it on the numbers you pulled out of thin air, then I agree.

He actually pulled those nimbers from various press releases submitted by each respective oem.

You have provided nothing.

Good for pappy.

So what? Who determined that last quarter was the one that "counts"? LOL

The assertion was made that high end Android phones do not outsell iPhones. Not that high end Android phones do not outsell Android phones "last quarter".

Keep your goalposts in one place please kthx.

If we ignore all other evidence, I agree, his assertions are true.

I did.

So is the argument now "iPhone's outsell high end Android phones except when high end Android phones are released"?

This is what Forbes (not an Android fan site) had to say about it.

This article was from the end of last year.

Any current articles?
lol guess this year isn't androids year.

You made a claim concerning the models listed above. The numbers that I found are from the release date of these phones until the present. I compared those numbers with iPhone sales during the same period. I used 2012 because that is the earliest release year of these models. My goal posts have been in the same spot. All that you want to talk about is one quarter of Note 3 sales, lol.

Tell me about, I don't think he understands that the 50% figure was made up by the author 6 months ago.

Since the release of the S4 until now, the iPhone has more total sales than high-end Android models. Period. Numbers don't lie.

500 million iPhones sold.

Can someone please enlighten me as to what the sales figures of samsung (or apple or anyone) devices has to do with Google and/or Apple buying (maybe) a company to enhance their streaming music offerings?

Apple bought Beats

Google bought Songza.

Let's get back on topic because sales numbers are the most boring points of argument in tech.

When? In 1 quarter? 1 Year? Since 2007? Who knows? That picture shows no dates. What is an iDevice? Is it including iPhones? Macs? iPods? Who knows. It's a floating claim and can mean anything.

Which is what some people seem to keep doing on here...spamming out "facts" without giving specifics.

Yeah, we've heard that before. Back when Apple was still leading in marketshare.

It could be argued that Apple needs the brand name recognition to compete with their chief rival, which is Samsung. Since some people on here are arguing that Samsung is not really a rival, sales figures are being brought up to support the argument.

These tangents really do occur for a reason. You can't just make up "facts" and not expect to have them challenged on a forum IMO.

I source my claims all the time. And when I have no source, I admit it is opinion...I don't try to project it as if it was fact.

Oh, really?

"From what I have seen of the sales figures, high end Android sales alone eclipse iOS. S4 + S5 + M8 + M7 + Nexus 4 + Nexus 5 + G2 + G3 + Note 2 + Note 3 ect ect .."
Source?

Sources are not required for opinions. Thats what the "from what I've seen" part means. Please read quotes more carefully.

Apple - Apple Events - Special Event June 2014

Check it out at the 45:00 mark. It's iPhones only. Over 800,000,000 iOS devices, which he states about a minute earlier.

I guess we will never know since you have not actually posted numbers from anyone but yourself.

You would know if you researched your opinions, as I and a couple more on here did.
