Google Possibly Investing in Songza

I'll bet money that they are more reliable than any Android.
You seem awfully concerned about warranties for something so supposedly reliable. Just sayin.

I've never even thought about it. I get insurance to cover my own accidents, but I've never bothered with warranties. Never had any Android products with problems requiring it. Droid 1, HTC Rezound, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5...they all worked great out of the box and until I replaced them. I actually still own all of those and they still work great.

Ok, whatever. You are speaking from experience?

With Apple? No. With regular service desks? Plenty. Apple Stores are just another service desk, they just happen to be from the manufacturer them self. Nothing extra special. The fact that Apple fans boast about the fact they like going to an Apple Store for problems, is more telling than anything. Why do you have to go to an Apple Store in the first place?

For every one like you, there is probably a thousand with problems.

Would you buy a new phone with no warranty? Be honest, and don't just agree with your brother.:)

I would if it is inexpensive. But as it happens now, I buy phones with insurance so I can get my phone replaced no matter what.

Equivocation is awesome. You can make any argument with it. "Hiroshima probably wasn't destroyed by a giant dragon"

I get the point of the exercise here, but please be aware that making jokes that include an event that killed 100-150 thousand people isn't always taken as humor.

I'm not really arguing reliability scores or taking sides in that particular debate, but since I'm pretty savvy when it comes to selecting phone brands I more often than not end up with a good experience. I'll simply say there are some major reasons why I prefer android which iOS cannot do for me:

app interoperability

wider selection of apps that can be set as default

I much prefer Google services to Apple's counterparts and they obviously integrate better on android

customization. by that I'm not referring to making pretty home screens, I'm referring to power use. I have my phone set up similar to Aviate Launcher except I have a double row app dock that scrolls without moving the rest of the screen and a custom made side bar that slides out from the left side of the screen containing functions like a battery power indicator bar, weather, unread counts, calendar appointments etc. this is over and above just the notification panel.

Being the apple fan that you are, I'm sure your response might be that those kinds of capabilities aren't what you want. But you can't deny they provide more power than iOS can deliver for those who do want it.

How did you determine the figure included tablets?

Android has already passes iOS on tablet Marketshare as well...yet another thing Apple people said would never happen. The impossible seems to be becoming commonplace heh heh.

Android devices=smartphones, tablets, etc.

I'm sorry did I miss the press release where android has sold more tablets than iPads?

How about more than iPod touches?

"Apple says more than 100 million iPod touch units sold since 2007"

I didn't think so. ;)

Your not but another poster was.

he was, but in his defense he hasn't (mis)spent months(!) and countless posts ardently waving a flag for android... on another platform's forum. lol who does that?

This whole argument of sales is quite frankly stupid anyway. People will buy a dog turd if having a steaming coil was considered trendy to have as a logo on your laptop lid in Starbuck's. McDonald's sells more crap than any other restaurant. Want a sure way to get the worst POS fall apart car you can? Buy the one advertised as "the best selling car in north america!" Cable TV is saturated with reality shows about trailer park fat kids, gypsy weddings and emotionally crippled Beverly hills rich wives. I once had a member here argue with me that eye scrolling is a significant smartphone feature because it's important to have so they can use the phone while eating chicken wings. Yeah, that actually happened.

How can I possibly respect the purchasing opinions of a culture like that? I don't. That's why I rarely buy the populist brand of any product and also why the things I do buy tend to have a better balance of performance, reliability, quality, features and capability. Neither Samsung nor Apple have met all 5 of those criteria historically in my books for mobile devices with the exception of the Macbook Pro. I wouldn't buy an apple desktop system though.

Camry is a POS? Lol! J/k :)

There are lots more Android fans doing it on iOS forums than vice-versa.

The sales thing is kinda dumb, and I guess that we'll never know the truth about iPhones vs. high-end Android, or even low-end vs. high-end, as no one releases that info. The only "proof" that was offered on here was an editorial opinion on Apple Insider, and if you look around, I'm sure that an opposite opinion can be found.

As far as desktops, why not an Apple desktop? It's obvious that you like Mac.

Purely because of money. Since I build my own PCs I get to pick every component myself from whichever manufacturer I prefer so I get parts longevity for less than the cost of a branded desktop. If anything does go it usually doesn't happen for years (aside from fans which are cheap) and is easily replaced.

Good reason.

Yeah, apparently. And it's been a while too.

Gartner Says Worldwide Tablet Sales Grew 68 Percent in 2013, With Android Capturing 62 Percent of the Market

Android Grew 127 Percent and Reached the No. 1 Position in 2013. Worldwide sales of tablets to end users reached 195.4 million units in 2013, a 68 percent increase on 2012, according to Gartner, Inc. While sales of iOS tablets grew in the fourth quarter of 2013, iOS's share declined to 36 percent in 2013.

We first heard about this about a year ago. It's not new news. Virtually all of Android's gains were at the expense of Apple. There is no Blackberry in the tablet world (unless you count Apple as the new blackberry...which they might be lol)

I didn't think so. ;)
Apparently you thought wrong heh heh.
