Google search app not showing list of previous searches

Can someone tell me how to make my Google search app list my most recent searches. This used to happen automatically on my old phone, but not on my new phone.

Now when I open Google search all I get is a blank search bar with nothing underneath.

Are you referring to the stock Android browser? It should be blank when you first open the browser and then show recent history when you tap on the search window.

I've noticed that it shows my recent searches only from my PC browser or if I searched google.com via the mobile browser. It doesnt keep searches that I performed within the Google Now Search app. Weird.

go into the settings in your "google search app" and see if your web history is on or off. if it's off...that is the problem, you have to turn it on.
