I have a problem with Google searching on stock browser .... worked for over 2 yrs but now when I go to Google to search, the search box initially comes up, then is quickly replaced by "Location Unavailable" so I cannot enter search terms

When I go to Settings/Privacy and check Enable Location, the search box is now replaced by my city name and "Update" in blue which does nothing when pressed.

I am signed in on my Gmail account
I downloaded Dolphin browser and got same issue so it is likely Google, not browser based
Still on Android 2.3.5

Now searching on Bing, which I hate, but at least it works.

Help pls.

Stock Browser meaning Chrome? If not have you tried that?

Might be called "Google Search", came installed on phone.
Chrome not available for my OS is my understanding.
I don't think it's a browser issue as I installed Dolphin and have same problem.
I suspect its something to do with Google itself tracking location but not at all clear why its suddenly not working, especially when I toggle tracking options.

Sorry, I missed the android version you gave. I am honestly not sure myself. Sorry.
