Google Services is draining my battery.

I went to Sync and for some reason, Play Movies/TV and Music weren't syncing (said syncing was disabled). I couldn't get it to sync, but after couple of uninstalls (from PlayStore), enabling/disabling Automatic Sync and actually accessing those 2 apps for the fisrt time, I got them to sync successfully.

I will report later on the battery. Do you think I should keep Sync always on (automatic) as until now I always had it disabled (and synced manually).

Lastly, do you think the AdWords issue I have mentioned above play a role or it is my OCD and it's completely unrelated?
Hi, I’m afraid I have no idea about Adwords or if google have drawn business elements into android like that, I’m sure someone may know and answer.

Hopefully the sync thing works out. I generally keep everything running but if I notice a spike it’s generally cause a sync isn’t working, sometimes due to bad signal and it gets stuck.

Yeah, the battery issue is very off. Your display should always be the number one battery consumer.

I suggest having a look, one by one, at permissions you give all your apps. Turning off permission to location services and not allowing background data use will help.

How many Google accounts do you have associated with your phone? Multiple Gmail accounts interacting with Google Play services will kill a battery.

What do the activity permissions you give your Google accounts look like? Multiple accounts all tracking your travel, collecting info from your browser use, etc...

On my phone, Google Play services doesn't even show up as a battery issue.

Have a look online, lots of articles about the issue.

My mantra is I disable anything I don't need or use, and allow almost nothing to use background app data.

I also turn off all gesture based controls, disable voice to text, any digital personal assistant options, etc.

Thanks for the long response.

I have a single Google account on all my Android devices (2 smartphones and a tablet). The issue appears only on 1 of the smartphones (so far). But it's the only device with a SIM card on, too.

I have disabled Location, Sync, NFC, everything that would drain up the battery. But for some reason no matter what I do, Google Services would always pop up and start causing mayhew.

All I really want to make sure is that Adwords and me doing that dummy campaign and then cancelling it (for the university task) haven't started a loop or anything on my smartphone. It doesn't make sense, though as they are different and usually have nothing linked with together.
