Samsung Gs5 - Verizon Android 6.01

What's happening: I'm travelling internationally and am in Paris now. I am roaming and have mobile networks set to "Global". My data works fine on wifi, 3g, and H+. When my network switches to 4g LTE, everything works fine except for google. I can't load Google.com, Google Play, and Google Maps. I can still however be on the Internet. I can pull up Bing without a problem, Facebook (mobile web based) comes up as well. Strangely, my Gmail app works fine on 4g LTE, so it is not all Google services that are creating problems.

Also apps that are tied to Google maps (like Uber) are correspondingly struggling.

Any help or insight is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to Android Central 22karl22!

The Verizon model of the Galaxy S5, G900V, is primarily for use on the old U.S.A. Verizon, CDMA, network whilst nearly all networks worldwide, (except, partially, China), are GSM. Verizon also use their own 4G/LTE bands.

Your phone will NOT work on any of the 4G/LTE networks. On some French carriers, Bouygues, Orange, etc; it will work on 2G and 3G and on some other French carriers, it will not work at all, Cellhire, Moxx, etc: See, Will My Phone Work? and CDMA vs. GSM: What's the Difference?

Thanks for the response. That is affirming and confusing. According to the link I shouldn't be able to connect and search at all on 4g LTE. I am however able to search and go to websites on the chrome browser. The only hard stop consistently is the google sites. What I am trying to make sense of is why I can visit some sites, but google.com and google search is impaired - only on 4g LTE. I would think if I was shut out, I wouldn't have any access, and that is not the case.
