"Google sign-in" error

The only thing that has worked for me is turning off any syncing that deals with G+. Haven't got the notification yet since doing that.

Has anyone thought about the fact that this issue locks you out of the Play Store? I'm on a HTC Inspire and did nothing to cause this in my phone. I must have updated in the background and now have the same issues as stated above. If we can't get into the store then how will this get fixed?

I don't think is it Play. I was able to get in it and search for apps. Granted, I haven't downloaded anything yet, but I'm sure it will prompt you to put in your password when you first launch it.

Turn off background sync for G+ (but keep the others on, incl. Play which needs background sync for it to work) will stop it for now until next update.

I'm locked out of Play. I've started to get a new screen that asks me to input the funky character's box. Even with a correct entry the password message appears again. It's not G+ because I have logged out and it no longer appears on my sync screen. It won't allow me to log back into +. Says no connection to server.

Whilst originally I simply got the notification to sign-in, tonight I lost access to Play and Google Talk. My proper password didn't work but when I created and entered an application specific password it worked and I've had no issues since.

I found a solution and i registred in this forum just for let u know how to solve, i hope u appreciate. This problem was driving me crazy all day really, but 5 minutes ago i found the solution in a random way. Indeed it's something about the google apps, but not Google+ specifically.
I went to gmail, then "account settings". In Mangage Accounts i selected my gmail account and then i selected \ deselected all voices:
-Sync Google Photos
-Sync Picasa Web Albums
Sync Contacts
Syng Gmail
Sync Calendar.
The account problem icon just disappear!
I don't know exactly wich Sync was responsable for the issue, since i selected\deselected them very quickly but i think was Contacts or Gmail....

UPDATE: THE JOY LAST 30 MINUTES...I HAVE THE ACCOUNT PROBLEM AGAIN,,,
INDEED IT'S SOMETHING ABOUT THE G-APPS ANYWAY...

I highly suspect it's related to the Google Apps we've been updating. Which ones have you updated recently?

Last night I updated google+ and that is when the trouble began. So, since I never even use google+, I uninstalled it thinking that would fix the problem. But it hasn't. What do you think? I also updated whatsapp at the same time but I doubt that has anything to do with it do you?

I don't have 2-step enabled. and I'm getting it too on my T-Mobile HTC MyTouch 4g.

Add me to the growing list of users experiencing this problem. I have an HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T). My problems started after updating apps WED a.m. I am able to download new apps without any problem.

It's back. The 2 step must have been my problem with the store and getting into +. Anybody know if Google knows what's going on?

i left google a message on g+ last night, i have no idea if anyone tech-y checks their social accounts, but i figured it was worth a shot. I was too lazy to do much else.
