"Google sign-in" error

Everyone is on multiple devices. Theory is that it has something to do with the Google app updates today.

I am not getting this error. Maps, Street View and Earth were updated earlier today. Gmail, Google Play Books and Google+ are asking for updates, along with Google Play Movies, but I don't use any of them, so they'll stay as they are. Maybe that will help narrow down the update that's causing the problem?

It sounds like Google+ is the culprit.

I had the same issue this morning. I decided to go to each app that uses my google account and just open them and make sure they worked (attempted to sync a file on Drive, Added meeting item in Calender, etc). Once I opened Google+ (did not even have to verify the password again) the problem went away. Seems simple enough, but I have not seen this answer in any forum yet.

Edit: just wanted to indicate that I have a Sprint EVO 3D.

Same thing happened this morning. It started just after updating the new G+ apps. I thought it was due to my fiddling with 2-way authentication, but nope, that wasn't it. Tried reset/reinstall everything. Also tried changing new password. Same thing happened again after installing with the new G+. That must be it. See if can wait it out for another bug fix update.

gmail gave me intermittent authentication errors last night. tech support thought it would help to remove SIM card. it didn't. eventually the gmail issue went away on its own. whats really weird is that i got locked out of my yahoo account on Wednesday for about 15 hours.

I have been getting this sign in error for my gmail account in the notifications bar ever since I updated G+ yesterday. Keeps telling me I am entering the wrong password. I have not however had any problems accessing my gmail or G+.

Showed up once yesterday after the update but haven't had it since and G+ works fine.

I opened Google+ after the update. Then set Google+ to not sync. Restarted the phone. Set Google+ to sync. Opened Google+ and haven't had the issue since.

I confirmed that this solves the problem. Thanks!

And I just updated Google Currents and it happened again.

Yes, same for me too. Guess spoke too early~

Oh well, keep G+ background sync off will stop it for now - until G+ comes up with another bug-fix update.

I did the same process for Currents as I did with G+. Hoping it doesn't pop-up again.

I opened Currents after the update. Then set Currents to not sync. Restarted the phone. Set Currents to sync. Opened Currents and haven't had the issue since.

You do know this all beginning to remind me of a Blackberry... :)

I'm not fully convinced that Google+ is the problem. From what I have read and experienced, mine does it more when calendar tries to sync then google+. I also have the problem on my Toshiba Thrive. I am having an additional problem on the Thrive that it doesn't even let me login into Google Play Store. If there is an update released I won't be able to download the update. I'm kind of leaning towards there being a problem with the google servers having a glitch. Does anybody have any ideas about how I can get my thrive connected back with the Google Play Store, without resetting the whole device?
