Google Sync problems. Removing & readding Gmail acct.

I have numerous GM accts. I listed them all on one Android. The 1st (primary acct) won't sync properly.

If I remove the 1st acct & restart the phone. Then add back this acct. Will it still be the primary acct? Or will I have to remove the other accts & add them back in the same order?

And will I lose my current Google Calendar on my phone or any other gotchas?

P.S. Is it me or does this AC Forum look weird? What happened to members posts, histories, mods etc. Is this just a ghost forum now?

I think you'll lose that as primary, but truthfully I can't find a definitive answer. Have no idea on the calendar, but I'd guess you'd lose that also.

Don't know what you're seeing, looks normal to me. Posts are all still there and we're (Mods) still here Screenshot maybe?

Seems hard to navigate. Guess it's years ago but used to be able to scroll through the forum front page & see every sub forum. Now I don't know what I'm missing because I can't see it. I couldn't even find my post except it was linked from an email notification. It's really eerie.

Not sure it will help but main page for AC lists all the primary forums. There is also iMore, Crackberry and others now with hundreds of sub-forums.

If you delete a Google account, you lose everything in that account.

But why would you have multiple Google accounts on a phone? List your <what you call your primary> Google account (the one you want everything backed up to, the one you want hangouts dialer to use Google Voice from, etc. Then add the others - assuming that you want to get email from them on your phone - in your email accounts, not in your Google account.

That way the phone still syncs to what you consider your primary account, and you still get email from all your Google accounts.

I'm not talking about DELETING a Google Acct. I'm talking about REMOVING a Google Acct from the phone & power cycle it. And add that Google Acct back on the phone.

OK. There's no "primary account" if they're all Google accounts. As I said, though, if all you want from the other accounts is email, add them to Accounts/Email (or whatever other email app you use - there will be a place to add accounts to it), and delete all the other Google accounts from Accounts/Google. That's just to sync, not to get email. Accounts/Email is for email. (Again, I can't understand what else you'd need other accounts for, unless you also have a few Google Voice numbers.)

Thanks for your efforts to understand what I'm trying to accomplish. I do have a couple Google voice #s . I want multiple accts backing up contacts, calendars etc. So I sync to all the accts. I'm having syncing problems that I manually have to sync. I'm hoping if I remove then add the acct back that'll solve the autosync problem.

But I want to know if I remove the 1st acct & add it back. Will the Android phone still see this as the acct associated with my Google Play paid apps etc? Or will I have to remove the other accts & add them back in the same order?

And will I lose my current Google Calendar on my phone or any other gotchas?
