Hi there,

I have a main gmail/google account that I have associated with my GNex. But I also have a secondary email from my business that is also on gmail. I have it set up to sync only emails from that 2nd account but every 10 min I am getting an alert that says "Google talk authentication failed for email xxxxx". It's this secondary email that it is trying to access.

The thing is I don't have google talk or chat or anything set up on that email. I just spent 45 min with customer service trying to figure out how to get rid of this notification but no one seems to know. The lady kept saying check and uncheck the email sync button. Well, that did nothing of course.

Anyone know? I also don't mind setting up a google chat window on this email account on my desktop if that would get rid of this notification, but I don't want to joing Google+ for my business if I don't have to!

Thanks for any help! Katherine

I had the same issue. I got it fixed but im not 100% sure what I did to be honest. I was trying everything. I do think that I opened the google talk app. I clicked to the settings and unchecked everything with the account i didnt want to use. I then clicked the unwanted account and in that account I chose the option to "sign out". I then had to log in with my main account in google talk. Since then im no longer seeing the "authenication failed" error for the unwanted account.

Ok thanks. I just tried that, completely deleted the account and then readded it, did a battery pull, and so far no further notification issue. However, I think this didn't start till the evening for me yesterday and I activated my phone around noon, so I wonder if there will be trouble tonight or tomorrow. I guess time will tell...
