The guidance provided by Google Docs is not helpful to INSERTING A TEXT BOX. The options listed contain items that are not included in my version of Docs, which is 3.124.

I use Docs on my Pixel 3 smartphone , not a computer

Google Drive's suite of apps for Android has always been less feature-rich than the desktop browser versions. I don't think you can create text boxes in the app.

I checked to see if it's possible by using the web version of Google Docs in mobile Chrome, but it automatically opens the app.

This is the first time I have seen where Docs falls short of the features of Microsoft Word.
