Would you still buy a Moto X post Motorola/Lenovo Deal?

Re: Motorola and Lenovo!

Now that some days have passed and everybody had time to think about this, I would like to know what do you MotoLovers think about the future of Motorola.

Do you think we will see Lenovo phones rebranded with a Motorola logo? Or you think Motorola will keep making awesome phones like the Moto X and Moto G under Lenovo's command?
Do you think is worth to keep faith in Motorola or what do you think?

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, it's probably going to be 6-9 months before we see any decisions being made that are definitive and another 12-18 after that before those decisions make it into devices. The one thing they can do between now and devices that they start developing now, is either improve or tarnish the brand. As far as gadgets go, 2014 is likely done and 2015 is probably too far down the pipe to cancel without a damned good reason.

As long as Punit Soni and his team are kept on, I have faith that Motorola under Lenovo will be like Motorola under Google.

They'll be using the Motorola name in the Americas but it wouldn't surprise me to see the same or very similar device sold under the Motorola banner in the US and the Lenovo banner in China.

It's clear that Lenovo bought Motorola to get advantages of their branding, so they surely will brand some of their models under the Motorola brand.
About keep faith in Motorola, I think yes... because most of the Chinese manufacturer have had troubles to get brand awareness in the US market and they will not loose the opportunity to gain some track in the US, so if they start to develop crappy devices they will go against their own business.

Motorola's share of the U.S. smartphone market?which accounts for most of its sales?jumped to 7 percent in the fourth quarter from less than 1 percent just six months before, according to International Data Corp., a research firm in Framingham, Mass. And that happened as Google slashed*Moto's product line*dramatically to just two phones?the Moto X and Moto G?down from 40 before it bought the company for $12.5 billion in 2012.

?The last time they did something that brought them up over 5 percent was*the original Droid? in 2009, IDC analyst Ryan Reith says.
