Google translate app, has stopped logging, words or sentences underneath the main input box

Hello there,
I have recently bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet.
I really only use it for the Google translate app which I use constantly as I'm learning German.
So last night I was using the translator app, as usual, now normally after you translate a word or phrase it logs that word or phrase under the main input box, (I suppose just in case you need to use it again in future). Today, I start using the same app, and for some reason Google translate has stopped logging words or phrases under the main input box. I have absolutely no idea how to rectify this. I check my android phone, and the Google translate app logs words and phrases, no problem. Back to the tablet, .....absolutely nothing. Doesn't matter what I do, it just won't log!
This super frustrating, I don't what has happened, or why it would suddenly behave this way!
Please could somebody give me some advice on how to remedy this!

I moved this from the Galaxy Note forum to the Note 10.1 (2014) forum, since the former is for the original Note phone.

What version of Translate are you running? I have 5.14.0 on my Pixel 2 XL.
