Google Updates..

I can't believe you are complaining about the performance of the Galaxy Nexus and you are on a Droid Charge. You wanna talk about garbage that phone, more than your overall statement sums garbage up pretty well. Had that POS from day one and let me tell you, buggy, laggy and horrid battery life. And this is close to a year later. At least a few months into it the GNEX will be better than it was upon release.

I had a Charge, other than gps slowness I thought it was a good phone. Would not classify as POS. Battery life was decent after GB update.

The next minor update isn't much of a game changer. I could be wrong but I doubt the update is going to "solve" the signal issue some people are having. I thought the update was going to dumb down the signal meter so it's not so accurate (similar to what Apple did with the iPhone).

Crazy, Crazy discussions in this thread. The craziest one I've seen yet is:

That is if you believe the software is at fault. I really have no issues with ICS. It's a great O/S.

Which is in line with my previous statement. There are a lot of people with no issues, and a lot of people with many issues. Luck of the draw I guess. It would be hard to believe that ICS works better on some GN's & not others?

I don't see Google updates fixing the radio problems, the multitouch problem, the camera problem, the low volume problem & so on. I also dislike having to keep swapping devices 3 or 4 times hoping to get a properly working unit.

I would like nothing more than to eat my words.

Guys, there are a lot of different factors that go into the issues people are having, including but not limited to:

Physical Location
Apps installed
whether or not they are using 3g/4g
whether or not they are using wifi
how actively the phone is being used for data/internet
how actively people are using the phone for calling
whether they are lock/unlocked
whether or not they are rooted.....

Should I keep going?

Take the Windows PC OS as a good example. A few people having a certain issue with their computer doesn't mean that the OS is broken and needs fixing. It usually means they have a program installed somewhere thats causing things to go haywire.

People not having some of the stated issues doesnt mean that their phone is a 'luck of the draw' pick, it could very well mean that they havent used their phone enough to experience the issue. Or, it could mean the person with the issue has an app installed on the phone that isnt quite optimized for ICS and its causing problems. I'm one of those "lucky people with hardly any issues", but im sure thats got something to do with the fact that I'm very particular with my apps installed, I'm not actively on my phone for 6 hours a day, and I dont live in a 4g area.

Its got nothing to do with the signal meter. I can place and receive perfect calls with 0 bars on this phone. If anything its too accurate. that being said, yes I'm sure that they will alter the way the bars are shown.

Im a strong believer that most of the people having signal problems use 4g on their phone. I have no doubt that there might be something wrong with the LTE radio, but i have never seen that issue in my 3g only location.

That's what I said.

Yeah, even if I have absolutely no bars my phone makes crystal clear phone calls and doesn't drop so the signal meter is just set differently than other phones.

I'm in Chicago, which is a strong LTE area, and I don't have signal problems. The only time I have ever had problems with the signal is when I was visiting my sister in Connecticut over Christmas, and I was constantly back and forth along the border of an LTE area.

Back here in Chicago, though? I never have problems with 4G as long as the network is up and running.

And you have call drops in chicago? or are you just talking strictly about 4g right now?

That's kind of what I mean then. You dont have any problems in chicago because you have a very strong LTE signal. Im talking people that have spotty 4g coverage, maybe because they are in a border zone or maybe because the LTE radio isnt cutting it, are the ones having call drops. I cant say from experience obviously since I live in a pure 3g area, but from the posts i've read over the last month in this forum that seems like the most common connection between the two issues.

I agree. From my time in Connecticut, I know that I'd probably not have as good an experience with a Galaxy Nexus were I living along the border of an LTE area. While I was in Connecticut, I eventually turned off LTE altogether because it took so much time for the phone to switch from CDMA to LTE.

the biggest most glaring bug with the nexus is the multitouch issue. this is iphone attenna gate big as far as im concerned but seems to get zero attention.

Because many people don't have it. You say its a glaring issue, but there are a significant number of people that don't have it. (and there are quite a few that HAD the issue, and swapped their handsets and no longer have it)

I must not have because I have no multi touch issue. What is this glaring bug u speak of?

everyone has the issue. some just dont notice it.

load up a multitouch game, lots of games its hard to notice but others its easily noticeable. GTA is the most glaring one for me.. cant even use the gas pedal and change directions at the same time.

Oh well im to old to play games on a phone. I find that silly

I haven't noticed any problems with the multitouch. It must not be something everyone is experiencing.

Seriously though, I think some of these problems are almost like the Toyota/Audi thing. When people hear or read about a problem with soemthing, all of the sudden they think they are having the same problem.

I've played multitouch games with no problems. You should probably exchange it.
