Google Voice affects Billing?

Been using GV for a number of months now. 4 phones on my plan, mine the only one using GV. My bill is constantly between $250 and $350 / month. I'm pretty sure it never used to get over $200 but maybe I just didn't pay attention and I've since added smart phone plans for my wife and son.

Does using GV to make all calls defeat the free Verizon to Verizon calls?
Does GV affect my bill any other way?

Thanks,
Joey B

Pretty sure that adding the additional data plans to your family plan will significantly affect your monthly bill. Also, since you are using Google Voice to make calls, I believe it uses your anytime minutes as if you are outside of the Verizon network when calling the other phones on your plan instead of connecting the call within the Verizon network. This is due to the you-call-Google-Voice-then-Google-Voice-calls-them to connect the call.

I could be wrong but I believe that is what is affecting your minutes usage, and therefore your monthly bill.

If you have the 5 in network numbers in your plan, just set your GV number as one. Then it shouldn't use your minutes

You can use a dialer program like GVdialer. It's a bit klunkier, but it will (along with your GV number being a fav number) allow the calls to be free.

I use Google Voice Callback ( Xinlu) with my google number on favorites list. Works great and unlimited

Add you GV number to your friends and family, call your GV number, login with PIN, press 2 to place a call, dial the number you want to all. Never use any of your minutes again.
