Google voice not showing as an option to make calls

I was previously using a windows mobile phone and the number one reason I bought the new galaxy note 2 was a switch to an android OS so that I can use google voice. Unfortunately, I have it all configured and set to "Ask every time I make a call" but when I try to place a call my options are the phone itself, skype and fring - google voice is not showing up as an option. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Just to see, I tried switching the setting to use google voice for all calls. That doesn't work either. So basically, I can not make calls with google voice on my brand new galaxy note 2, that I purchased partially to use google voice. I don't get it - google makes android, google makes voice - how can there be issues here???
