Google Voice not working?!?!?

hello droids new member here i don't know if i'm missing anything but im having difficulty setting up google voice during the set up and then asked to set up a voicemail PIN after a while message pops up saying my phone number could not be verified. please try again later...ive had this issue since my htc amaze

They have had their issues for a while. I had to delete devices and reset everything via the web interface.
