I set up Google Voice for voicemail only from Google.com/Voice.

But then, now I have a need for the calling/texting aspects of Google Voice (In addition to voicemail). Is there any way to change my account type? I can't seem to find it on the settings page.

I think youu need to reword the question?

Do you want txt forwarded to your phone or do you want to txt online or txt from your phone for free?

You should be able to do any of those and more.
Make sure to download the google voice app if you haven't already

Try this:

In Gmail, click the Call phone link in the Chat list.
From the Call window, click your current account balance and select History or Add credit.
Once in Google Voice, click the Upgrade your account button.
Complete the upgrade steps including picking your new Google number.

There is no Upgrade Your Account button..

Basically, when I first set up Google Voice, I set it for voicemail only.
Now, I want my Google Voice account to do more than just voicemail.

This is really taxing my memory, but I'm pretty sure when you sign up they warn you that you can choose between one of the two account types but cannot change it later.

It depends on your setting..
if you set up for your Gmail account it will direct them to voice mail else it will ring your mobile..
