Google Voice Typing

I downloaded and installed the update a few days ago and not sure exactly what the update consisted of but my Google voice won't stay on but a few seconds and stops. I start talking and get no more than a few words in and it quits and I have to keep pressing the mic. I rely a lot on voice typing because I do make a lot of typos so has anyone else been experiencing this issue?

Uninstall and reinstall. Maybe even restart the phonen1st.

Not sure about Google voice typing but I'm using gboard and dictating this with voice works wonderful, SwiftKey is not so good at dictating, I don't even bother with the stock keyboard I don't like it, all this was dictated with gboard perfectly

Actually I was using gboard, I switched over to Samsung and then swiftkey which I have used for a couple of years but it's on all keyboards. I went to gboard because it s mentioned on here how great it is but I still prefer SwiftKey over all the others

One thing that's been on my wish-list for a while, and keep hoping will be added in the "next release", is automatic punctuation for Google Voice typing. I greatly dislike having to say "period", "comma", etc.

I haven't. Check your settings and make sure Samsung Voice is off and Google is the default for voice texting. I k ow in past I'd had issues with (I think S8+) reverting to Samsung voice and being glitchy time to time
