i installed google voice and now i am getting a text message notification an email notification a notification in the notification bar..bottom line..how can i limit it to only one notification lol

On your desktop go to settings in google voice, and uncheck which ways you don't want to be notified. If that makes sense

i have notificatons in text message unchecked but i still get a text that tells me what the message says..also i don't see a setting for turning off email notifications

Login to your Google Voice Inbox, click on settings>voice settings in the upper left corner, and then click on voicemail & text. That is where you control whether you're notified or not. Is that what you meant?

thanks thats exactly what i needed i didn't realize i had to set notifications on the website and on the phone.

hahah ya it was driving me crazy..and they wouldn''t come at the same time..so i would get one and two and be staring at the phone waiting for the third one to come lol

I hate to ask this question, but you did click the save changes button after you made the changes on the website, right? If you unchecked the checkboxes for Voicemail notifications and text forwarding, you shouldn't be getting those.

ya i hit save but im still getting 3 notifications for google voice..im thinking of just deleting it and going with simple voicemail..its not worth the hassle

Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure why you would be getting notified if you've turned all of that off. Google Voice is still good if you are going to call out of the country. I just don't use the texting/voicemail piece.

when i set up google voice i had 4 voicemails in my old voicemail in box and now the notication is still on the phone but i can't seem to get rid of it when i dial *86 which was old voicemail itjust goes to voice not to my old vmail so how can i delete the notification in the upper left hand corner?

This is all you need so you only get one notification, the one in the bar.

Note: I keep my email notification on as well.
