Google Wallet

I installed the new Google Wallet on my Nexus 7 but there are only three cards available to use. (Citi MasterCard, Google PrePay and GiftCard). Does anyone know how to access on the Nexus 7 a Visa card that is already active in my account?

If you have downloaded GWallet through the market on a different device you should be able to go into the play store check your apps in the all tab and get the update for GWallet on your tab otherwise you can only refill the prepaid card with your visa. I think the update is broke though... tried to pay for a drink today and it declined my prepaid balance. It was weird.

there is an update to the app that comes stock on the N7 that allows use of other cards, go to Play it should be there

A vesa is a master card. I do believe.

I have received the latest update. The only way I found was to load the Google card (marked as "Default") from my existing Visa card. I tried adding my existing Visa card and got the message that GWallet didn't accept this card from a widely recognized national bank.

And you updated the app right?? Playstore-->Menu-->My Apps--> Google wallet-->Update

the reason why i am asking you again is that the new app has all cards and the old app will look like what you are seeing now.

THANKS!! Worked perfectly. The update for Wallet just arrived in my "My Apps" folder within the last few days. Got the card registered. Now, I will find out how frequently it will be useful.
Love the concept. Hope it catches on!!!

For anyone who used google wallet with nexus 7 to make purchases using NFC.
I was wandering if the NFC signal will work with a case on the tablet or did you
have to remove the case to get the transaction to work. Don't know if the case
would block the signal.

Yep, I have 3 cards registers with GWallet, CitiMasterCard, Discover and AmEx. They all showed up when I updated.

Just so everyone knows, when I make a purchase with Discover and AmEx, Google pays for the item and bills my Dis/AmEx accounts and the charge appears on my statements as "Virtual MasterCard".

Strange but true. I guess they do that to keep from paying the fees those companies charge.

Ha! Yeah you do look ridiculous using the N7. I did just once because of the free sawbuck you get for registering.
Use my nexus s 4g for wallet all the time though.

most people at the cash register would be surprised to see this. you don't have to embarrassed about this as it will make you look cool.

who on earth can pay using a device rather than cards??

Hi there, just joined the forum after buying my Nexus 7. I'm a complete novice so please excuse me if I ask daft questions, the first one of which is where do I access Google wallet? It's not in my app list and when I search for it in googleplay it doesn't appear there either. Apparently when I bought the N7 there's ?15 been given to me. Can I spend this on music or does it have to be apps , movies or books only?
I'd appreciate any guidance, thanks

I just bought my N7, too, and wondered if Google was still giving the $25 Google Play credit. I registered a card in Wallet, but can see no way to tell if I actually got the credit or not. Apparently they've also discontinued the free book and movie with purchase.

A friend just set his up now and got the credit for 25usd

How do I know if I got it? When I purchased an app it was charged directly to the card I added.

When the account is first set up, the screen should prompt you to enter your card details. After that you get the 25usd credit. That's how I did it and so did my friend

Be that as it may, it didn't do that for me. It just charged my bank card immediaterly. Is there a link at Google where I could ask about this? I couldn't find one.

The $25 is a play store credit not Google wallet.
You do however get $10 when you first register wallet.

My $25 play credit hit my gmail account with an email saying welcome, that I got it and how to use it at checkout, as soon as I logged into my gmail account. At a later date when activated wallet it defaulted to my debt card which they had on file from purchasing apps on my phone. All of my contacts, emails, and apps migrated over and in minutes I was 100% on the road with my N7.
