gorilla glass

No it does not, it has gorilla glass 2.

I'm working on my procrastination issues, you just wait and see!

Ops. Sorry. Yes it has gorilla glass 2. To me, that's gorilla glass.

What exactly is gorilla glass suppose to do? Is it suppose to keep the screen from cracking or scratching? Cause if its suppose to keep it from cracking, then gorilla glass is terrible. Ive seen 3 cases of cracked, no shattered screens on the GS3 form basic falling out of pockets.

Its very scratch resistant. Nothing about it being unbreakable.

I would get a screen protector. I went without a screen protector, since release date. I put a protector on aweek ago. I started to notice irreversable minor scratches in outer areas. Never dropped the phone before. Scratches were more than likely caused by keys in my pocket.
PS. I love the samsung manufactured ETC 2PKSCEGSTA, slim cover, 2 pack. Its so slim you can't tell you have a case on. It also improves your grip on the phone. Maybe no good for high drops onto a hard surface.

I had a screen protector on mine for several weeks and once it started peeling off the screen has been naked. I will eventually put another one I guess.

I have never used a screen protector on a gorilla glass phone and never had a single scratch. I usually kept it in holster though or when in pocket it was by itself.

Screen protectors do more than protect from scratches. They also protect your screen from shattering if dropped. Screen might break but with a protector, it can keep it from spider cracking and/or keep pieces from flying until you get it fixed. I personally though do prefer to clean of a protector with a wet wipe after letting someone use it than having to wipe the actual phone. Other's spit and sweat on my phone is not my cup of tea.
