Got my HTC Evo yesterday ask if you have any questions!

Great questions everyone! I've learned more about this device in everyday-type of usage than the past two weeks...lol

Had a question myself...does this have In Call recording? i created a thread but was wanting to get more response from someone who actually has the device in hand...lol

Ok so I currently own a Palm Crapre and when I put the phone into my pocket and walk around for bit and pull it out of my pocket I have like 5 or 6 things opened- phone, internet and various apps. Now this happens when I just randomly walk around the office or if I am working out . has something similar to this happened on the EVO ?

Have had my Pre for a year and have never had this happen.

Hello,

Thanks to all of you lucky ones who have received EVOs already. I hope I speak for EVERYONE in this thread when I say we appreciate you taking the time to answer our questions. A lot of people have already asked some of my questions and they were answered. I do have one that hasn't been asked yet, or at least I haven't seen it.

How is the EVO's Alarm Program?
Does it allow you to set multiple alarms?
And somewhat related, how is the calendar alert notification?

I love the Pre's alarm program. If the EVO's is anything like it, then I'll be happy. However, I HATE the Pre's calendar alert. It was too short and not customizable at all to remedy the shortness of it.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I think Evo's alarm program is better then the Pre's

Thanks in advance for your input.

No problem, anytime.

You said that you had a Htc Hero and I was told that the battery for the Hero is the same one in the Evo is this true because there are two Ext batteries currently out for the hero (1750mah Seidio/ 1800mah Mugen).

Yes..

That's definitely a plus.

Please let us know about the calendar alarm when you can.

Thanks!

Just tested the calendar and yes you get a notification and you can eather dismis it or snooze the notification, works quite well actually.

Wifi

My wifi signal always shows to be weak, but when I run a speed test my nexus and evo get the exact same speeds. So it may be a software glitch? My evo with one bar or 4 gets the same speeds(as I am sitting in line of sight of the router) as my nexus with full wifi strength... just a heads up

For all the multitasking questions on Android it saves the state just like on the Pre its just that there are no cards but if you hold down the home button for like 2 seconds it will bring up a list of the last 6 apps you have opened and you can go back into any of them by just tapping on them so its definitely NOT like like the Iphone.

What happens if you have more than 6 applications running? Is there a way to see/switch to them all easily?

Yes hold down the home button for about 1 sec or 2.. then you get a grid list of what is running...

Just to be clear, those are the 6 most recently launched apps and not technically a list of 6 running apps. Any of them could be closed.

yes that is correct, its the 6 most recent launched apps they do not to be actually running.
