GOT ONE 12-11 best buy

thats assuming its a BUG...if I got a bad device then its back to square one and bring on the rumors....if it is a BUG then this is probably the reason for delays

I HAVENT USED it yet but sfbates has...it is available, and FREE

how did he get free tethering? From the $10 app? or from Verizon?

of course theres always the chance i misunderstood him...but he did say he was running 4g hotspot all day today haha

hopefully this post shuts up about 96% of the forum.

you know the ones who would quicker believe that Verizon is holding this phone back because they are harvesting nerd tears to make demon robot machines with then the fact the phone might be being held back because the latest update.. that fixes these issues.. hasnt finished with testing/certification.

Or maybe he got a lemon since this doesn't seem to be a recurring issue with the few who got a nexus early or the testers....

I'm just hoping the Gnex comes out with a $199.99 price tag so I can go back to best buy and get reimbursed some of the cost since I Paid $299.99. The launch price isn't known yet so we kind of just went with that price but price matching may kick in by the end of this week!

Sounds like threats were made, read 3rd paragraph.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus Found Early at Best Buy, Verizon | PCWorld

After reading that and the links in there, this situation is getting ugly.
After getting calls and texts to return the phone or an employee would get fired, I would have to think hard on that one.
On the one hand, keep the gorgeous Nexus.
On the other hand return it so someone can keep his job.

I'm a pretty cutthroat guy but arrg yea I guess I would return it. (VERY RELUCTANTLY!)

:D

ask them for something in return. like a year of free service or something like that. THey messed up let them fix it. Or keep the phone. I doubt they will fire anybody over it. If they do I would smell a big lawsuit on their hands.

is it not legally wrong for companies to threaten an employee with being fired??? obviously its probably at will employment where they can be fired for any reason, but i have a feeling they cant actually threaten you with it unless a customer returns a product. Its not like they stole it

I can tell you now the BB Rep who sold it to me won't be getting fired. His manager, the inventory manager, other reps and BB Help desk all said it was ok for him to sell it to me and told him how to do the work around to charge me. If anything, his manager would probably just be called and told not to sell anymore. I doubt heads will be rolling from this.

Same here...we had 4 managers trying to figure it out and the actualy salesman was meerley following orders. Whoever set the date may get a talking to, but i doubt it will progress further than that

Went to 3 BBs in Syracuse ny. Almost had one at the first store til the salesman asked his boss. Failure for me.

That is probably one of the most classless things I've ever seen in business.

I think part of that is the consumer's fault as well. We are way too quick to bust out the store that sold the devices (and sometimes even the names of the cashier) on public forums. If somebody were nice (and possibly stupid) enough to risk losing their job to sell me a phone earlier than they should have, there is no way I'm going to sell them out to a public forum. If people ask I would PM them the store location, but that's it.

Now everybody should think back to this the next time they plead with a retail clerk to break the rules on the next big-time release. Nobody is going to be willing to do that, knowing that their name and store # is going to be posted all over the internet.
