I'm lost, what other problems do you have with VM? I understand that theres no upgrade plan or anything, and that the phones are kind of expensive, but what other problems are there?

well the phones are so overpriced I have gotten some great phones in the past for cheap never paid more than $60. The only phone that would be a real upgrade from the Optimus V is about $200 - $300 (for that price I at-least expect dual-core) and has specs about equal to my $60 Droid Incredible. I honestly wouldn't have a problem paying $35 a month even with the throttling if they'd just open their activation more so I could activate a Sprint phone. All I can say is if Republic Wireless comes out of beta with reasonably priced phones that are at-least an upgrade from the OV then my business will go to them.
Actually, when the OV came out it was $100 more that the Optimus S with a contract and still $100 below retail for the OS. Virgin doesn't over price their phones, they actually make very little on them. Yes, they make a profit on them, but only a small amount.
The problem is they are feeding us junk phones.
Triumph may retail for $280 or whatever, but it's junk. The only other phone they sell with a faster processor than the OV is the Slider, which has an 800mhz processor. Worse, the two new ZTE phones coming are also 600mhz like the OV. Seriously? Come on Virgin. They are probably doing this to help Boost and Sprint post paid, but they are seriously starting to hurt Virgin at this point. No one who has a clue would spend $200 on a 600mhz phone at this point. It was slow a year ago, and ancient now. By summer it's going to be downright pathetic with Tegra 3 coming, which is actually cheap and possibly the new Iphone.
Sprint needs to realize T-Mobile is nipping at their heels and people are leaving, giving us some better phones would appease many of us. Their service quality dropped, their speeds dropped, prices went up, and the phones have became crap. While it seems like Virgin is being relegated to being the very low end prepaid service and nothing more, they keep asking us on surveys if we want better stuff which is pointless if they have zero chance in hell of giving it to us. Quit asking and give it to us, heck even let us use our phones, may cost a little more on support, but would appease many of us.
THAT is why I'm frustrated with them.
The plan works perfect for me, and I can tolerate the lousy tech support for as little as I need them, however the phones are becoming a hassle. The company just isn't what it was a year ago and they don't seem to give a darn.
I see questionnaire after questionnaire from them, but nothing seems to change. Stop spending money on surveys and do something.

I just spent more money on my SGS4G than I should have. But I looked around and didnt find a phone cheap enough that I could get now and make the move. I dont regret it one bit.
If you want a dual core phone for 200-300 bucks your going to have to go post paid. Simple as that. You will not find a new phone for less than 500 bucks. I tried my hardest to get a SGSII for the same price I paid for the SGS4G and the closest I could get was 425. That was a "used" phone too.
I understand the frustration as do most people here. But what you want is not going to happen. Right now until people stand up and tell the companies look we want better options and until you offer prepaid phones that are on par with the post paid we refuse to spend money with you its not going to happen. When the Droid X was released people were pissed because it had a locked bootloader. And to this day it still does. So many people left Verzon for other carriers and when Verizon asked the people what they wanted the most the resounding response was unlocked bootloaders. I guess the people of Virgin need to start a facebook page demanding better service and phones maybe that will get the attention of the executives at Sprint.
1200 minutes and 2.5gb of data for $40, thing is great, cheap, barato, no puedes pedir mas.It's not e real gap, it's reduction on speed.

I knew it was too good to last. ( as things usually do in the world of corporate greed.) No more tethering my netbook with my OV. I'll have to go get a MiFi now because I have NO cable in my home. ( my life is cheap!). I really don't use my Dell that much cause my phone is my life! It's just one more thing I'll have to budget!
