Got swipes/scrolling being mistaken for taps?

I read this over on XDA so I can't take credit.

Maybe my only big problem thus far with the G4 has been the touch responsiveness issues. Mainly when scrolling through like my Facebook feed in small swipes that originate on a link it would open them. Same for when browsing web.

Anyways I just did this myself and it seems to have helped a little so far. Could be placebo so take it for what it's worth.

Settings>Accessibility>Dexterity and interaction (Verizon, other versions say Motor and cognition I believe)> Change touch feedback time from short to medium or long depending on your results.

People on XDA were reporting knock on to work better and less swipes registering as taps. The trade off is you will notice the time to acquire a long press will be longer.

Again could be placebo but I think it is helping a little.

Thanks I just tried this and it seems a little better. Will experiment further.

I've been having trouble the last 10 days. I tried everything, even factory reset. The last thing I tried was to install the SGS Screen Booster app; that had no effect at all, which surprised me. So, I said screw it and uninstalled that app. Right after that, the screen reverted back to working perfectly!

There's some software setting internal to Android that this app must have jarred loose and back to normal. I'm curious if this works for anyone else. Remember... install it... change and apply settings a few times to no avail... then uninstall it. It's only been 30 minutes for me so time will tell if the fix holds.

Argh! It's doing it again, back to its old ways. I tried Screen Booster again, and this time it didn't fix it.

Ugh!!!!

From your Settings, go into 'Sound & Notification'. From there select 'Volume' (doesn't make a lot of sense) and you will see: Touch feedback & system, you adjust the screen sensitivity from there. I must have heavy fingers, everytime I went to scroll, I kept opening up stuff. This works. .. . Uncle Joe
