Got the ASUS tablet - Here are a few thoughts

Hey coming from an iPad can you find decent calendar, todo, and notebook apps from android to replace awesome note and todo for the iPad? I have been struggling all week trying to make the android experience work for me.

For me the biggest issue was embrace Google's cloud based approach for information. It really is much better having everything in the cloud. No more dependency on a computer and no need to sync with the computer. I haven't touched iTunes in forever.

Hope people don't mind me asking a general question in this thread rather than starting a new one. For the people who own the Transformer and the iPad 2, do you feel the Transformer is too big? I guess I am somewhat spoiled by the size and thinness of the iPad 2 and want to make sure the size of the Transfomer won't be a hindrance before I purchase. Any thoughts?

I have an iPad 2 and after using a Transformer I was impressed how small and light the ASUS really is.
It's like an iPad that has been sqeezed horizontally to make it more 16:9
It's a bit thicker than an iPad 2 but not bad.
I like them both which is why I will be getting a Transformer as well.

Thanks. Appreciate the input!

I'm doing the same and will have both. I'm going into this with the realization honeycomb is a work in progress so I'll have my ipad2 as my workhorse for now while. Cannot beat the price of the transformer

That's kinda what my plan is.
I'll have:
A Transformer to tinker with and tweak.
An iPad 2 to do more graphic intensive movie watching, browsing and gaming.
A computer to do all the things that are not mean't to be done on a tablet.

I'm really considering this tablet. Definitely my favorite one out right now. Only thing is I'm worried that right when I buy it a Nexus tablet will be out in a month. How do you guys think ASUS will handle updates? Or just root it and not worry about that problem?

Now that I have been playing with this thing for a couple days I'll point out a couple things I found. Keep in mind I have never owned any other tablets but have had an iPhone and currently have an Android phone.

- Not all apps work. Granted this is more of an OS issue and when dealing with bleeding edge how can I fault the TF specifically? Well, why does the "My Library" that comes from Asus on the home screen not run? Kinda a pita and a bit of a letdown
- No 5Ghz wireless, or at least I can't find it
- If I hold the pad just right under a bright light I can see the buttons on the side as in another post, VERY minor but can see em.
- Accessories? I can't even find where to buy a 2nd power adapter. Granted this is bleeding edge again and Asus is still trying to get them out the door but come on, power cords?
- Battery life is down right awesome, no mods or tweaks or apps. It just lasts all day and then some.
- Feels solid, no creaking for me that others complain about
- I like the heft. Not sure how it compares to an iPad1/2 but I don't want something that will break if I sneeze while holding it.
- Response is really zippy. I did have lag on one web page today and could not get connected to any other web pages. Not sure what happened but a reboot and all back to normal.
- Screen is really sharp and bright. Finger prints are an issue so keep a nice cloth with ya to wipe it off after the movie starts
- I love the My Net app for local DLNA streaming, just works perfectly.
- I heard rumor about an Asus RDP app.... where is that? I resorted to Android VNC client and that works really well connecting to a TightVNC server.
