Got the EVO

mcfryus02... why would you ask that? :)

how does the reception compare to your hero? recent htc phones seem to have odd issues with signal

How is the keyboard tap accuracy? Is it better than the N1? Not all that happy with the N1 keyboard a accuracy.

Hey Panzy. Thanx For the Posts!- Can u change the launcher and menu to the Vanilla 3-D Styled Nexus One version. I remember the Desire being able to swith from sense ui to stock(posted here on androidcentral). And 1 more thing hows the camera, is the same as the Droid Incredible? Android and me did a photo comparison and the Nexus One came out better. The Incredilbe had a Blueish tint to it's pics.-http://androidandme.com/2010/05/phones/the-incredible-camera-showdown-droid-incredible-vs-nexus-one

PanzyDog - can you do us a HUGE favor, open up the back, pop out the battery, and tell us what the FCC ID is?

Notifications: are they multi-color?

Thanks.

I would also like to know what type of notifications it has please. Does it have separate LED's or do the buttons on the bottom light etc... Any multicolored ones etc...

How strong is the speaker for speakerphone use and the occasional showing off a YouTube etc... ?

How many apps can you run before it starts to get sluggish?
Does the extra speed help eliminate any slow downs from using various live wallpapers? Some videos showed that some of them can slow a device down.

How do you like the Sense UI with it?

Yous said the screen was really nice. I was worried about the extra screen size but no increase in pixel density (resolution) making it look slightly block-ey. Have you noticed any of that at all? Any personal disappointments about them keeping it TFT? I find my Pre's TFT screen gorgeous so I am personally not worried. I like TFT a lot but some people are complaining that they did not use AMOLED. I was just wondering your opinion on that.

How hard is it to replace the battery if you had a spare.

How fast does it boot?

Thanks for answering our questions. i:)i

I completely second this!! I've been thinking it was PC36100, but I haven't seen it hit the FCC yet, but it's hard to imagine it hasn't passed yet. But the Nexus was selling with in a month of passing the FCC, so it's not impossible. Also don't quote me but I believe the iPhone 3Gs passed FCC after it's official announcement. Would love to confirm that I haven't been wasting my time looking for the wrong number.

Panzy, you are awesome!

Here's my wishlist of questions and a breakdown of some already asked:

1.) How much RAM, ROM, and internal memory storage?

2.) What is the FCC ID beneath the battery?

3.) Could you please take several photos USING the EVO 4G's 8mp camera, with and without flash, still and video, and post those either on this forum or to your YouTube account?

4.) After some real-world usage, can you expound on the battery life, what you are using the phone for, and approximately how long it lasts?

5.) Any word on this being released with Android FroYo 2.2, or will it definitely be released with 2.1?

6.) Are LED notifications in various colors?

7.) Thanks again for letting us in on this. :)

Out.

Please test the bluetooth and voice commands capabilities and report back. The main failure of our beloved Sprint hero's is that they are less than average as a phone. Let us know if the voice commands work through a bluetooth headset. This is something we've expect to work out of the box even with the most inexpensive phones but HTC or Sprint have failed to deliver with the Hero.

KC represent... that is sweet. I don't think I could switch to Sprint for this phone unfortunately, but it looks awesome! I'm curious about the bluetooth as well... my Nexus 1 is just horrible with my bluetooth headphones, while my iPod touch is pretty solid, as was my iPhone previously

Bluetooth voice dialing doesn't work with ATT/Nexus1 either.

Can you take a video using the evo's camera and some pics and post it here or youtube?? I would love to know the quality of the camera.

Doesn't it seem redundant to keep asking to post pictures and video to see the quality of the camera? Not flaming anyone, but Panzy has to come back and read through all the posts and if he keeps reading the same thing he may miss a new question. If it's already been asked a couple times, probably shouldn't ask again. That's how the threads get so long and then people tend to go straight to the last page and ask the same question because the same question has been ask for the last 25 pages and don't want to read through them all. IMO:)

Wow, watching the youtube video you shot, that is FAST! The one thing that's a concern is battery life. If you can only get 2.5-3 hours of use (judging from your initial test), then this device is useless.

So I got the EVO again and have been having a blast playing with it. Hell even my GF and kids are wowed by it! And the GF doesnt usually like touch screen phones but now want one! Still absolutely amazed at its size and speed. It simply makes my Hero and any other phone look like a joke. Screen is remarkable.

Anyway, if anyone has anything specific they want to know or want me to try out let me know.

Here's what I'd like to see:

* Side by side, the hero and Evo, click the same apps at the same time to show how much faster they start up in the Evo

* Go to SunSpider JavaScript Benchmark (In Progress...) on both phones to test how fast the javascript is

* Shoot some video in 720p with the device and show it on an HD TV

They work fine with my voice and phone. They don't work well with my girlfriend's dad's voice as he has a thick accent. I'm actually shocked how well the Hero's voice commands and recognition work. The bluetooth won't work unless one of the following:
1. HTC adds software for it, like Motorola did (and they have added software in the past, like HTC Flash Player and bluetooth file transfer built-in 2.1)
2. It comes with Froyo, which may have that feature built into the OS
