Got the Note 8, currently using Mate 9

Back in the day, I loved the Note series. I had 2, 3, and 4.

I bailed on 5 due to the lack of MicroSD card. Then the 7 blew up before I got it.

So i was pretty excited to get the Note 8, but I am bored.

The Note definitely has a better camera, I love wireless charging, and the S-Pen can be cool, but I definitely prefer the Mate 9.

First of all, it is way faster and the battery lasts way longer. Plus the size is perfect. 2:1 sucks, 16:9 is great.

And I love EMUI. That screen shot tool is the best. Calendar is awesome. Tons of cool features.

Just need to get some security updates

Pro tip: I use a PopSocket to help handle this rather wide phone.

Mate 9 will be beaten only by mate 10, the Note 8 can't hold a candle to the mate 9 in terms of performance screen real estate and battery life, Mate 9 cam can be better at day light but always lose in low light

Note 8 is a great phone using it. I really like new wide screen and stylus it also have good battery life

Yes, my biggest gripe with Huawei/Honor phones in the states, the security updates are few and far between.

both are great phones, I have both. The camera on the Note is better IMO, but he Mate 9 camera has its benefits (BW sensor is amazing). The security updates is an issue for the Mate 9 for me.

Long-time Note user here too. But Samsung lost me on the Note 5. No removable back and SD card did it. SD card slot was a must-have. And I hate the new narrow phones. Love the Mate 9 so far. Hope it continues to keep the wide format with the Mate 10.

Both phones offers great camera. Note 8 takes better low light shots, but idk how it is with flash on. I almost always use flash during night or low light areas

Oh great. It's always odd to me how reviewers takes low light pictures without flash on. I wanna see how it is with and without flash and see the difference.

Maybe..considering how rarely any one ever released a picture with and without flash the chances are slim. There's a couple of youtubers who does. And I watched their videos already.
