Just picked a note. Awesome device. My first android phone. Just got to get use to this size. First impressions of android is that's its definitely come along way a from a couple years ago. The Note does lag a bit. Not as polished as my iphone 4 I had but seems to have more features. Anyone try the Note and go back to iphone? Just curious. All in all im happy and gonna give it a couple weeks and see if I can get used to the OS and size. The 4 buttons at the bottom(home, back etc..) is there a way to keep those lite all the time or at least longer? Thanks

Can't answer your questions yet since I've been on the fence about whether to go with the Note or the Skyrocket. Would love to know why you chose the Note (business use, personal, screen, etc). Am having a hard time making up my mind since the Note is really a completely unique device and cannot be viewed as a smart phone, even though you can use it that way. Also would like to know how easily you transition to Android since it's VERY different that iOS.

Congrats!

To be honest with the S3 around the corner I didn't consider the Skyrocket. Liked the size though. I chose the Note for business and play. My BB was great for business but I wanted a media device too. Considered waiting for the S3 or see what the next iphone would bring. I wanted to test out the android OS as all my friends love it. Its nice and definitely has more features as far as customizing than the iphone had. But the iphone is really smooth and android does have a slight lag to it. We will see. I'm not married to anything. I'm at a point where I will use the device that best suits me. Its only been a day so I will wait a bit and update my feelings about the Note.

congrats on getting the note, for your question about the keys>select menu>settings>display>touch key light duration, adjust to your prefference

Is there a way just to have a alert sound and icon display alert and have notification bar off? When I turn off notification it takes sound option off.

I hope this new breed takes off. And I'm really hoping Verizon ends up getting their "Galaxy Journal". I only make a few calls a day. 99.99% of my phone use is for tablet-type stuff. I have the 7" Galaxy Tab, but it's still too big to lug around everywhere in my pocket. The Note looks perfect.

Honestly, I'd like to see HTC hop on board and give it a shot. My Fascinate was wonderful, but I've yet to come across a phone that operates as smoothly as the Rezound. My iPhone 3GS was pretty fluid, but there were way too many "cons" for me, personally.

Interesting.. Am curious why you didn't consider the Skyrocket since it's very similar in some ways, though not really an all in one device like the Note. I like both of them and am simply concerned about the HUGE jump from a 3.5" iPhone screen to a 5.3" Note screen..

The GS2 has sold over 20 million units though the Note is no slouch at over 5 million either.. And that's in only 5 mos! Will be curious to see how everyone's Note runs once ATT releases the ICS update with the new S Pen Suite, which looks VERY cool!

In the end, I think it's a matter of really understanding the TONS of uses the Note offers that a smart phone does not and then learning all of them!

I thought it was little laggy when I first got a live wallpaper, but without its smooth as butter. I have mine in a folding leather case and use Bluetooth so I don't have to get teased. LOL but seriously this phone is the best out right now IMHO. I use the S-pen to write down notes for my business as I'm talking through Bluetooth. The screen resolution is beautiful and I love watching media. Normal phone..no.. awesome phone.. WellHellYes

Hey just to let you know of a few apps that I enjoy or find useful if you don't know of already that will rival the iPhone. Try "Tango" video chat, "speaktoit assistant "like Siri and "easy phone tunes" to get all of your iTunes music. A few useful Apps that I like are, "No Led" a visual notification. "Shush" turns on and restores ringer with a set time. "Pulse" news widget to customize. Just trying to make you feel a bit better about your new device. ;)
