Gesture's

Didn't they take part of them away? There used to be an option for swipe up from the bottom at the left for recent, swipe up from the bottom in the centre for home, swipe up from the buttom at the right for back (and corresponding to where the soft buttons can also be displayed at the bottom for recent, home, back). However, I don't have the available anymore. Is that what you're referring to? Did they bring it back for a beta?

Swipe up from bottom at centre (for home) or swipe in from left or right at bottom (for recent or back), is I think still available native Samsung. How does one get Google Gestures on Samsung?

You have only two options in settings>display>navigation
Buttons it Google gestures, Samsung is not an option anymore except in Good lock

I can set mine to use the three soft buttons at the bottom, or to use gestures at the bottom (with then gestures being limited to swipe up from bottom centre and in from either side at bottom). So that's default Google/Android, not Samsung?

I've got the soft buttons on, not the gestures. I came to Android from BlackBerry and was quite used to gestures. And, I used the gestures back when the arrangement was set to allow swipe up from the bottom at left, centre and right. When they took that away and moved it to the arrangement of swiping up from centre and in from left/right sides, I turned gestures off (it was just too awkward for me initially to try to retrain mussle memory for swiping in from the sides). With the soft buttons, I still basically swipe up (over the soft buttons) from the bottom left, centre and right. I'd prefer to not have the soft buttons showing at all, but oh well.

To answer the original question, I basically use swipe gestures up from the bottom (over the three soft buttons) but I have to have gestures turned off and the three soft buttons on, in order to use it the way I do.

I switched to gestures as soon as they came out. My wife still uses buttons. It's great when we use each other's phones and look stupid trying to swipe or poke buttons.
I was just typing basically the same thing...

Definitely gestures! 👍

The Husband still uses buttons. It drives me nuts when I have his phone.
I swipe away and nothing happens.
🤔
It always takes me a bit to figure out what's wrong.
