Got the Thunderbolt.. activated.. stuck on 3G?

I'm in downtown Irvine, CA and I know there's 4G here.. yet my freshly activated Thunderbolt was only showing 3G.

I did *#*#4636#*#* and saw that it was on "CDMA Only (PRL)" wtf?

So I changed it to CDMA / LTE EVDO (Auto) or whatever it was and now I can see 4G.. however I see that it's constantly dropping from 4G, even outside.

my 4G aircards show strong 4 bar signal and I get 20+ Mbps but the Thunderbolt is having problems.. anyone else see this?

I had some network issues today myself but is all go now.

Yes but this was a freshly activated Thunderbolt, out of the box and it was configured to only connect to 3G. I had to manually change it..

Is this how it's supposed to be?
