GPE based ROM for Galaxy S5

Do any of you know if there is a rom that's as close to GPE as possible? I'm on the latest verizon update 4.4 Android and am not rooted yet but may root if I find a stock Android rom. My brother's Nexus 4 has no lag after all these years and I think it's because of the lack or carrier and OEM cr@pware on the device.

I believe there is a version of CyanogenMod for the sprint s5.
