GPS and Navigation issues on N5 T-Mobile

I've been using my Nexus 5 for the 1.5 months and I am having real issues with the Google Maps Navigation. I try to use the navigation and either I can't get a lock or the navigation freezes or doesn't accurately follow my actual location. I dont know if it is due to issues on the phone or maybe T-Mobile LTE issues that freeze and make the app unusable. But right now the only thing I can do is to do a step-by-step list and try to follow it, cause the app doesn't accurately follow me and if I go the wrong way it takes forever to update the route.

Has anyone had any of these issues? Is T-Mobile LTE network in LA the issues or is it the N5? I travel somewhat for work and I need a functioning Navigation system.

I'm having the same issue with T-Mobile on my n5. Sometimes changing the accuracy settings helps but usually my location freezes in the middle of navigation and I can't get an accurate location. It kills me. I'm in the same boat as you brotha

I am on T-Mobile and have not had any issues. Recalculation is fast (without that annoying "recalculating" message) and I have found it quite accurate. I will say it had been a while since I used Google Maps and it took me a little time to get used to the updated app.

I know this is an obvious question, but for what it's worth, have you checked to make sure that your GPS is actually turned on in the settings?

Are you on LTE or HSPA+ network? I think it might be the phone, because the problem is so severe that lots of people would be complaining if it was T-Mobile network, maybe an individualize issue with the phone?

Was it working at any point in time? If so, a factory reset may undo whatever it is that is causing the problem.

I'm inclined to agree. If it was working at some point then something is causing problems.

If you don't want to reset then consider clearing the cache for Maps. Settings - applications - Google Maps.

Strangely enough, I have experienced the same issue, but on my T-Mobile Moto X! I was screaming at Motorola for faulty GPS this... but seeing this thread, what's the common denominator here? T-Mobile!
Did you find the root cause?
I'm very interested in the solution.

Install the app called "GPS Test" to test the hardware and report the results here. Sounds like you have a defective GPS hardware. Remember you need to be outside with a clear view of sky to have good GPS reception.

Seems your GPS hardware is broken. No amount of software can overcome that. You need at least 4 satellites in 30+ signal level to get a good tracking down to 16 to 20 feet accuracy.

Because the highest signal you can receive is 23. I can get that easily in the basement of my house :)

Have dealing with the infamous broken GPS in Original Samsung Galaxy S. This tool is what I use to check every single Android phones I owned. Yours look worse than my broken Samsung Galaxy S.

I found a link and it tells me to speak with a hardware specialist? Is this the only way to proceed?
