GPS battery saving mode really works

I've only tried this for a day , but the battery really does last longer with battery saving mode under the location settings. Even better, my location is always really close. I would need to turn it on for navigation driving down the road, but I really don't need it for much else.

I always noticed that "finding location" notification peeping in the status menu, so there is no telling how much it was draining the battery. I think Android lumps that category into "Android System" in the battery menu.

You can still keep it on high accuracy..just turn on Qualcomm izat as well...and you save battery that way without the compromise of throttling your processor with the battery saving mode....

This is how I keep mine and battery life is excellent...

Yes use it...watch and see how much it improves without throttling your processor...just attched a photo of my settings below my other post

I just enable iZat on my AT&T V20, glad to hear that it improves standby time!

Exact reason why the battery life on this phone beats my old note 7 even though its a smaller battery.....the improved 3DNAND UHS 2.1+ helps with battery conservation as well....too bad none of the reviews mention any of this.

I always avoided it. Lol I wonder what would happen if I use battery saver and that.

***never mind. I think I had it on.. I remember putting it on this phone to test it out.

Yeah I just benchmarked the read and write performance on my V20 and was really impressed with the speed. Beats the note 7 by a decent amount.

I'm sticking with just the Battery Saving mode. I tried the IZat as well, and I started getting that annoying finding location notification peaking again.

So last night, I went to bed with 100% charge, I woke up with 99% charge. It used to lose about 4-5%. The GPS was just too active draining battery I guess.

I can literally go to bed with a 100% charge and wakeup with 100% and my settings are like what I said in my previous post...so maybe u have a rogue app that overuses GPS services or you are utilizing too many cloud services

Mine goes down overnight by a little, but I have smart lock enabled...not sure if that makes a difference

I went to sleep and 7 hours later my phone was still at 100%

How would one find that app and turn it off?

I was listening to bluetooth music on my bluetooth earphones for a whole hour and battery stayed at 100% this morning

I always use Battery Saving Mode unless I really need high accuracy (only for driving directions).
