GPS causes Rezound to randomly turn off

That didn't seem to work either, so I went back to the old Google Maps... but now when I reverted back to the old Google Maps by uninstalling updates, it freezes/reboots anytime I use Maps/Navigator/Car Locator (basically, any GPS dependent app)! Does anybody have any potential ideas/fixes? It stinks, because the utility of my phone really goes down a lot if I can't use GPS apps. :(

Are you rooted? If so, uninstall the entire app with Titanium Backup or something and then pull in a full new fresh install of GMaps.

Yup, I'm rooted. I uninstalled GMaps 6.7.0 and am ready to install a new one - should I just go ahead and install it straight from the market or should I try for an older version? Thanks for your help.

I uninstalled all the updates for Google Maps and had to go back to version 6.9.2.

First go to the market and make sure you turn off automatic updating as your phone will automatically update maps back to the latest version after you do this and will set you back at square one, without a working GPS.

Second search Google for any combination of "google", "maps", and "6.9.2". There are mutiple sites where you can get the older version.

Third download and install version 6.9.2 and away you go...good as new.

Hope this works for everyone.

Booo - unfortunately, uninstalling using Titanium and then reinstalling a new version (6.9.2) still did not work. It still rebooted while I was in Navigation... :'(

Here's a post from someone else who was having reboot issues despite updating. Maybe something here you haven't tried?

Thanks, xxfallacyxx. I did try that earlier (upgrade from stock as opposed to from 6.9.2), but no luck. My phone seems to be fine when I just leave the GPS on for a while, but as soon as I boot up GMaps or Navigator or My Car Locator, it reboots within a few minutes.
