GPS constant, no location

This issue seems to be plaguing those who frequent/live in North-East Texas.

Last week I was in the Lufkin area where the GPS and all associated apps for my Droid Incredible worked fine.

Returned to the Marshall area where no GPS or associated apps worked.

I was in Shreveport on Saturday and the GPS blackout was there also.

UPDATE: Called in to VZW tech support for an update on the issue. Tech said he would look for alerts about the issue. I explained in detail the issue and what i have been told. He looked into my account notes and beleive it or not, the last tech i talked to 2 weeks ago had notated my account. He read parts of the note for clarification and said that at the time the notes listed a few days as the estimated time frame for a fix.
He then looked to see if it was a "Known issues" as he said he had not heard anything about it (and they are in Houston). He said there was nothing listed so he put me on hold to call the local store. He told me that they were aware of the issue (that i had brought to their attention a few weeks ago) and that they had been told it was a google issue and the time frame for the fix was 3 weeks, which has already passed or will in a couple of days.
I still do not understand how the "towers" are locking the GPS out.
I still do not understand how this is a GOOGLE issue as my location services worked great prior to the tower merge
I still do not understand how VZW isn't working to fix this and is blaming someone else since obviously other areas where there has been a "merge" of alltel and VZW they aren't having the issue.
So, still no ETA on a fix. I explained that the phone is halfway unusable for me because location services is one of the main reasons that i have a smartphone.
I have been very nice and patient thru all the fumbling around with my phone (see me earlier posts) and i will to an extent. But if this isn't going to be fixed in a timely manner, then i believe vzw is going to 1) loose customers in this area 2) need to let people under contract out of their contract since the services that we are paying for don't work. I really need my nav to work. I really need my assurion backup/wipe ability as i have information on my phone (work related) that i need to have the ability to wipe remotely if lost/stolen. With all the tornadoes in the area, i would like to have my weather work as intended instead of having to search for a weather station by zip/city while i travel around east texas. I know there are workarounds, but i can switch to another carrier and get these services to work as intended. I like verizon, and they have been very nice, but 3+ weeks and no one even knows what the problem is or who needs to be fixing it....REALLY

Man, you guys are so lucky, I never get to be in the Galapagos Islands; I am always in San Jose, Uruguay. And truthfully it wouldn't be so bad, but the weather is a lot nicer there and it angers me, lol.

But seriously, it would be nice to have things ironed out and working properly.

Yeah, exactly... That's what i told VZW... that maybe they should put me on a ship to the pacific for all the frustration this has caused me.

Mine is coming and going since the outage last week (i think that's when it was). When the network came back, i am getting better map location, but i still can't get weather to work like it did prior to the tower upgrade/downgrade/merge... My maps locate my by cell triangulation, but i can't get an exact location and it is spotty at best.

But i am on dry land for now.

FWIW, I'm in the Chicago suburbs, I've had the TB since 2 days after the launch. It's always taken > 3 minutes for GPS google or stand alone to find my location and even then it's a location within about a mile of where I'm actually at. I'll be in the car with my husband on his Verizon Droid (original) and he'll be located basically instantly and precisely.

This has been the same problem between our phones all over Chicagoland (where we've never had Alltel), around Denver & surrounding mountains and in Central or East Costal Florida.

I ran from TMo following the AT&T announcement, so far I'm regretting my decision. At least with TMo you either had a perfect connection or no connection at all.

**Update**

I am happy to report that my prolonged vacation to the Galapagos Islands has come to an end.

Recently, the GPS signal/service has been restored and is fully functional in my area. I first noticed the service returned about 2 weeks ago. No interruptions since, so I am optimistic that a fix has been found.

Now its time to unpack my bags and check for stowaway iguanas.
