Is there an app for GPS internationally, i would like to know since im going to southamerica. Or just the stock apps would do just fine..

the software is free. the regions are downloaded. maps are installed. somehow i don't see the cdma phone getting used for actual airwaves. unless he's going to use the actual air waves. but since america is the only cdma technology. i don't think that's going to happen.

there are programs that can be download onto the phone that aren't internet required. i have navigon, copilot, and osmand. cuz gps don't work in teh boonies when there's no signal.

The op needs data to link to GPS Satellites. What you offered was just a map app.

Get a Garmin. It will be cheaper and easier than using cdma phone overseas.

I agree. My wife was just in Europe and used a Garmin unit just as if she was at home. The data for Europe was $100.
