GPS performance questions

+1 on good and bad days with the GPS
Ive always had issues with locking ever since stock 2.1 EA28 Now im on 2.2 and ive tried the EB01 modem and tried flashing back to the DL09 modem hoping that would help but "some days" it just takes at least 1 minute to lock "accurately" outside unobstructed on a clear sunny day. Other days it will lock inside my house in 15 seconds. I usally keep GPS turned off but i do enable it under Location & Security instead of the widget. Ive heard that enabling it and rebooting the phone will help and ive tried that and it HAD seemed to work but i found out to be be just another "good day" because other days it just wouldnt lock even after rebooting. So for all those out there that can lock within seconds and accurately im jelous. I just hope for good GPS days with my SF.

So you are on DJ05? Never upgraded to EB01/EB16/EC10/EA28?

My GPS is not "instant" but definitely faster than stock; I'm using EC10.

No, he's not on DJ05, he said his GPS performance has been better SINCE the DJ05 fix. If you look at his user profile under his username and to the right of his picture, you can see his ROM is superclean 2.9 and his kernel is EC10.

Just flashed the new EC01 radio and now my GPS is finally locking on and "accurately" inside my house in 5 seconds, i had to try it like 15 different times just to make sure. I could never get it to do that with DL09 or EB01 radios. Hoping the good and bad days of GPS are gone. I think Adrnalyne has outdone himself this time. Thanks!

Mine still takes a while to get the first lock.

For the record I dont think multiple locks means anything. I think the initial lock after gps has been turned on is the key instance because of data that must be downloaded and a fix on the satellites. After that initial lock I think the data is cached.

After reading your post, I turned on gps test and it locked on 10 sats in bout 20 secs inside my house. It has NEVER locked indoors before...amazing.

Did just the radio like you. I'll wait for the community rom.

I havent tried EC01 yet, im going to wait for a complete rom debloaded and debinged out of it. I use dl09 on 2.9.2 and my gps is incredible.

Yeah im waiting for the community ROM too. But for now im happy with the radio. Heres my gps test inside the house
