Is anyone else having an issue with the GPS taking forever to get a lock on your location. Mine just takes forever to lock in. It looks like it is doing more triangulation than anything else. It will bounce all over then maybe in a few minutes it gets close but nowhere near where it should be. I am rooted. I saw a fix for T Mobile but just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem on Verizon and if there is a fix for it.

It was bad both indoors and out doors. This morning on my way to work it took awhile to lock on and when it did it was off some. On the way home it locked on a lot faster probably about 8 seconds or so. Now it looks on indoors also. Not sure what was going on but i will have to keep an eye on it.

Ya I'm having gps issues with verizon as well, it works now and then but most of the time it's off where I'm actually at and takes a while to get any lock.

GPS has been working fine for me when I bought the G2 shortly after release on Verizon. However the GPS navigation has recently been acting up and is basically unusable at the moment. I was troubleshooting and realized there was a recent Google Maps update. I went ahead and uninstalled the updates (reverting back to the version that came with the phone) and my GPS navigation now works. I'm not sure if the issue has something to do with the latest Maps update, for now I'm just keeping the version that came installed on my phone. Anyone else encounter something similar?

Hi all,

I've been having this same problem with my launch day LG G2. When I first got it, I took it on a trip abroad and had it in airplane mode. I tried to use Google maps while offline (I had previously downloaded the area map for use offline), but it was taking forever to lock on to the GPS. It would lock on eventually, but only after 5 mins or so.

Recently back home, it still sometimes takes over 5 mins to lock on, and sometimes (last night for example) it just doesn't lock on at all. I don't know if reformatting would help, although I would like to save that for a last resort. Any ideas? I am not rooted and I have the latest version of Google maps

The latest version of Google Maps messes it up on mine for sure. The factory version is also purposefully crippled to be slower than the previous release (7.4.xx). As far as I can tell the 7.4 version was much faster locking in than the 6.xx versions currently lock in, but 7.5 has me flat out in the wrong place. In my house it shows me in the middle of the road on the other side of the lake (? mile)...when it "locks" my location. Leave more one star reviews for maps, people! I don't personally know anyone who prefers the decontented 7.xx to the 6.xx versions of maps.
