When I am overseas with no phone service will the GPS in my Optimus V still work for navigation? Anyone know for sure if it will or will not from experience?

Thanks

I used mine on a trip to the UK, you need to have a data connection (used dads wireless) to cache the trip before you set off

Data connection, where you are going or before you leave? If you are using Google maps (that are available in most major city's now I think) to simply see where you are and follow a map manually the caching would not be necessary, correct? If you simply pull up a google map say in London with no phone service/wifi, just GPS sat. it will show where you are correct?

not without some data access ether by phone or wifi

Ok, I see that makes since, you wouldn't have access to Google maps if you didn't have some kind of data service.

Thanks
