Proud to say I just got my update to 4.1.1 and I had this problem before were my GPS won't lock it takes any were from 3 to 10 min to finally lock on. I tried the quick fix option they had for the GSM version bit did not work. Anyone know how to fix this? Without rooting. Thanks.

I think it has something to do with the Maps update. I'm still on 4.0.4 and yesterday it would not lock in when I used Maps on 3G. When I got to an LTE area and the radio switched, it locked in.

Hmmm I will have to try that out. Thank you.

I tried it and had no luck.... if I can fix this problem the update so far is solid and I'll keep the phone. Haha

Try this. Go into settings, Location Services, and uncheck Google's Location service and recheck it. I know this has been a problem on a lot of the roms that I've used since JB came out and that fixed it.

Did you try turning off your phone removing battery and Sims

Try a new gapps package if you're on a rom.

Nope I'm stock. Guess I might be screwed......

do you have wifi at home? do you use it? is your router registered in google's databases? not sure about JB, but with GB i had an issue where i couldn't lock on until i connected to a google-known router. i guess the device relied on that location information in order to "zero in" to satellites or something.

Yes I have and use wifi but even in LTE and 3g mode it won't lock.

i don't think you read my questions. is your router registered in google's databases? i'm not asking because i think it's related to your wifi. i'm asking because sometimes it appears google devices use recent wifi connections to find appropriate satellites for your area.

I don't think it is I use my schools wifi in my dorm room. But how would that also make it not lock on in LTE and 3g as well?
