Graphics processor

I don't think the hardware version of the phone has anything to do with it, there are a lot of people complaining that run it on N1s and Desires.

Do you have the full version or just a demo?
Full version. I'm taking the game slowly so I can get the most out of my money, lol.

I already finished the first island and am 3 into the next one. Better slow down! LOL. Then again, it might get harder later on, been pretty easy so far.

Some are pretty fun. There should be more levels imo. However, I'm only on the second island hehe.

It does get a bit harder... you have to think about how to get the bananas without actually making your monkeys go there.

The whole gravity thing threw me for a loop at first, I thought when I build the bamboo over what looks like a solid surface it will stay there as it does in build mode. Definitely an interesting game.

Is the problem that the Adreno is that inferior to the PowerVR, or is the bigger problem the fact that companies like Gameloft are simply porting their iPhone-optimized games to other platforms (Android, Palm) and NOT re-coding the game to take advantage of a different GPU? In other words, the Pre benefits from the fact that they use the same chipset (or chipset family) as the iPhone, therefore Gameloft and EA's games are already optimized. But for those of us using Snapdragon chipsets, those same games don't play as well simply because there were written/optimized for different hardware?

Due to the popularity of the iPhone, using the same chipset was probably a pretty shrewd move by Palm as it made porting easy and required no re-optimization by Gameloft.

I was, and sort of still am, an advocate of the straight port theory, but then again, when comparing games head to head between platforms it becomes evident that Gameloft did try to make them run better on the Snapdragon platform.....by turning down the detail level as evident by the uglier looking textures and lower polygon count. Also to keep in mind is the screen resolution of the Pre and 3gs... 320 x 480 vs our 480 x 800, more pixels to fill takes more time.

Smaller textures would help the snapdragon.
Uglier looking textures... probably.

However, the Snapdragons can get 22million triangles/sec. It has a lower fill rate, which is the cause of all problems.

They sure do, that's one thing the iPhone always excelled at. This generation of Android phones, or should I say snapdragon phones were a step in the right direction but they are hindered by that adreno 200 thing we have sitting under the hood. The Droid x is next in line as far as better performance but when it comes to the King of the hill, I don't think any phone can compete with the galaxy s/ Epic 4g. That hummingbird humms right along and will destroy the adreno in every category. So, looks like the epic is the way to go for undecided Sprint users. But I am not too worried, 3d games have really only begun to come out for android, and by next year, when it is time for a new phone, I am sure just about every new platform, be it omap, hummingbird, or snapdragon 2 will breeze through every game available on the android market.
