Gray bar fix?

I got the Galaxy Nexus a few days ago, and for the most part I am really happy, except often my bars go gray (with 4g icon). Data works but I lose connectivity to google services. Does any one know of a fix or how to prevent it from happening?

It could be intermittent interruptions of the 4G service in your area. If that's the problem, there's nothing you can do about it. If that's not the problem, you have about one option: unlock the phone and flash a ROM that includes newer radio firmware, such as the leaked 4.0.4 update.
